COACHES

Here are the people that keep the team together and work hard to help the girls reach their potential. They all work together to get the girls through high school and possibly get them to softball in college.

Taylor Neel

HEAD COACH

"I've played softball since I was a little girl and over the years of playing select, collegiate, and international ball, I found myself always looking for what brought me to the game in the first place.

As a head coach, my goal is to help the girls reignite the passion they once has for this sport. We will work on the fundamentals of the game ad grow both as athletes and young adults both on and off the field.

I'm looking forward to coaching and working with the girls this season!"

Taylor played and graduated from Parkway West High Schoo, Lindenwood University and Santa Monica College, and was able to play in Italy and was on a Caribbean cruise to teach locals how to play softball.

I am the behind the scenes person that takes care of the everyday items for the team.  I enjoyed playing softball and volleyball in school. I love watching the girls play, grow and build character.

Shekinah Lawson
ASSISTANT COACH

"I've played softball since I was a little girl and fell in love with the game immediately. I played travel ball and high school ball and still currently play in some women's fastpitch games.

My reason to coach is I just want to give back to the sport that has done so much for me. I want to help girls love the sport and not lose that fire they have for it. My dad was my coach almost all my life and I always told him I wanted to be a coach just like him and now I'm getting that opportunity and I'm so excited.

I graduated fro Parkway South High School and also played for a nationally ranked St. Louis Community College for a couple years."

Kelsi Appel
ASSISTANT COACH

"Hi, I'm Kelsi! I have been playing softball since I frist fell in love with the sport at 7 years old. I started out playing for a local recreational team, and then later began playing club softball on a very successful team. I was an all-conference and all-district pitcher and outfielder at Windsor High School in Imperial, MO. After high school I played two years of college softball at Jefferson College, a nationally ranked D1 junior college as an outfielder. While in college, I also learned to slap hit.

After my two years at Jefferson College, I entered into a EMT and then a paramedic program. I now work as a medical assistant in a pediatric primary care office. I got married in November of 2022, and I have two cute holden doodles!

I have previously assisted in coaching 10U, 12U, 16U, and 18U teams. I am drawn to coaching as I have a passion for giving back to the game that molded me into the person I am today. Softball teaches so much more than physical skills. It teaches you to be determined and never give up on yourself. I look forward to bein a mentor and coach for these young ladies!"
